Fredrik Carlsson

Fredrik is a European patent attorney as well as an authorized Swedish patent attorney at Bergenstråhle & Partners.

Fredrik has more than 13 years’ experience as a patent attorney while working with patent prosecution within the fields of physical chemistry, surface chemistry, coatings, cellulose chemistry, paper, catalysis, thermodynamics, material technology, and polymer chemistry. Fredrik has studied at two of Sweden’s top universities when it comes to life science; Uppsala, where he got his Master of Science in molecular biotechnology and Lund, where he got his Ph.D. in chemistry.

He is one of the Swedish delegates in the European patent institute, organizing the professional representatives in Europe.
Fredrik has extensive experience from oral proceedings at EPO both before the board of appeal as well as before the opposition division and the examining division.

Experience

Fredrik worked as a Ph.D. student at Ytkemiska Institutet from January 1999 – December 2002. In January 2003 Fredrik started his career as a patent attorney, and in October 2005, Fredrik joined Bergenstråhle & Partners.
